Living Well After Brain Injury

The Brain Injury Association of America publishes a quarterly publication, The Challenge. Each issue usually has a theme and the most recent is “Living Well After Brain Injury”. I am a member of the association’s Brain Injury Advisory Council and the group was asked to write a listicle using our lived experience.

For those of you who are not familiar with a listicle (I wasn’t), it is a brief article with bullet points and a few sentences about the topic. We broke it into 7 sections and each member chose a topic that resonated with us. The group met multiple times via zoom and developed our pieces. It was a wonderful collaboration and it allowed us more opportunities to share our experiences.

The article was submitted to the marketing director and we decided to record brief videos to further expand on the topic areas. The Council started a YouTube channel last March and this was a great opportunity to add some additional videos to the site. Greg Ayotte, Director of Consumer Services, acted as the host and we paired up to make the video more interactive. We are hoping to add more videos in the near future.

Our Council is proud of all the work we have been able to accomplish as we advocate for brain injury advocates and survivors.
