Michael and I are pleased to announce that The Miracle Child: Traumatic Brain Injury and Me is a finalist in the Memoir (Overcoming Adversity and Trauma) category of the 2023 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, the largest international book awards program for independent publishers and self-published authors.
In their recent press release, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards announced the winners and finalists will be honored Friday, June 23 at a gala event at the Newberry Library in Chicago, IL, coinciding with the American Library Association Annual Conference. It is a great honor. Although we can’t attend the June 23rd awards presentation in Chicago due to another commitment, we are excited that our book is continuing to receive attention not just to our efforts, but also to the recognition of traumatic brain jury and the effect it has on families. There has been much progress over the years but there is still more work to be done. We will continue our advocacy efforts and speak to various groups.
